What Are The Most Common Sinus Problems?
One of the most common sinus problems is Para nasal sinus because most of these problems originate from it. As we know that sinus is a cavity that collect blood and water and our body usually have many sinuses. It is very common for sinus to be found in the organs, bones and various other tissues but many of us are only aware of Para nasal sinus, as it is the four pairs of cavities that is found on our facial bones. Why Are We Afflicted With Sinus Problem? There may be various types of Para nasal sinus conditions but the most well known is sinusitis which is the result of inflammation of the tissue surrounding the lining of the sinus. It could be due to allergy, a virus or a bacterial infection, or even due to inhalation of irritants for instant gas and fumes. There are various cells that line our sinus going out to the nose through openings that is connected by the nasal passageways to the sinus. As such openings are very small, the possibility of getting a sinus problem increases due to the lack of proper drainage. The most effective treatment for mild sinus problem is to just take an aspirin or just another milder analgesic but if it is an allergy, then by all means utilize antihistamines or even nasal decongestants that will diminish inflammation of the nasal passages, greatly improving drainage. On the other hand, most of the severe sinus problems are due to sinus infection but if virus in the upper respiratory organ is the cause, then the condition is usually not as severe and will disappear in no time. Complications from a bacterial infection that is accompanied by an existing cold or infection of the upper respiratory organ require more powerful treatment. Pain will develop from a severe sinus problem as well as tenderness in tandem with a fever and swelling. The course of action will be the use of antibiotics but the first option is to clear the nasal passageways. Leaving the sinus problem as it is will lead to more complications with a higher chance of it getting serious such as developing an infection of the bones and the infection of the tissue near the eyes as well as contracting meningitis and occasionally brain abscess. Abstaining from smoking is all in you best interest and avoidance of polluted places that can set-off your sinus problem.
